Day 1: Arrival in Zhangjiajie, Leisurely Tour of Xibu Ancient Street
🕘 Morning/Afternoon: Arrival and Pick-up
- Our guide will be waiting at the exit of Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport (DYG) with a sign to welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Wulingyuan Scenic Area (approx. 1 hour drive, 35 km).
- The guide will provide a welcome pack containing maps, the itinerary, and emergency contact information.
Accommodation:
- Wulingyuan Scenic Area Hotel (Specific hotel name subject to the tour notice), located near the scenic area entrance for easy exploration the next day.
🕘 Evening: Free Time – Explore Xibu Ancient Street (Recommended: 18:00-21:00)
You may choose to head to Xibu Ancient Street to experience the local nightlife
- Street Overview: Located on Jundi Road, Wulingyuan District, Xibu Ancient Street is approx. 1.5 km long. it is a commercial street combining antique and Tujia architecture, featuring Tujia stilted building styles with upturned eaves and carved doors and windows.
- Folk Experience:
- Tujia Brocade Shop (middle section): Watch intangible heritage inheritors weave on-site and purchase handmade brocade accessories (scarves 50-150 RMB, small pendants 20-50 RMB).
- Every Friday and Saturday night from 19:30-20:30, there is a free Tujia Baishou Dance performance at the street square; visitors are welcome to join.
- Food Recommendations:
- Impression Tujia Restaurant (right side of entrance): Signature dish is Tujia Sanxiaguo (stewed bacon, tofu, and radish; average 60-80 RMB) and rock ear stewed chicken.
- Snack Stalls: Tianji Cake (10 RMB/piece, fried rice paste with river shrimp) and Tujia Fried Rice (15-20 RMB/portion with diced bacon and pickled beans).
- Practical Tips: Prices in the back alleys are more affordable than on the main street. You can negotiate prices for souvenirs (usually 10-20% off).

Day 2: Core Journey to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
🕘 Morning: Yuanjiajie Exploration (Recommended: 8:00-12:00)
- 7:30 Hotel Breakfast (We Arrange: Chinese buffet breakfast)
- 8:00 Departure, 10-minute drive to the Forest Park Entrance
- 8:30 Take the shuttle bus to Water Winding Four Gates, transfer to Bailong Elevator
- Bailong Elevator Details:
- Built between 1999-2002, vertical height 326 meters, running speed 5.25 meters/second
- The lower half is inside the mountain, the upper half is a transparent viewing section; 66 seconds to the top
- Best view: Against the outer glass; try to secure a front-row spot
- Yuanjiajie Core Attractions:
- Hallelujah Mountain (formerly Southern Sky Pillar): Altitude 1074 meters, relative height 150 meters, renamed due to “Avatar” Hallelujah Mountain filming
- First Bridge under Heaven: Natural stone bridge, 2 meters wide, 50 meters span, 357 meters above the valley floor
- Mihun Terrace: Best viewpoint to photograph the panoramic peak forest
- Practical Tips:
- Arrive before 9:00 AM to avoid tour group peaks
- The small path on the west side of Mihun Terrace (fewer people) is an excellent angle for shooting Hallelujah Mountain
🕘 Noon: Lunch Arrangement

🕘 Afternoon: Tianzi Mountain Scenery (Recommended: 13:30-17:00)
- 13:30 Take shuttle bus to Tianzi Mountain (approx. 30 minutes drive)
- Tianzi Mountain Highlights:
- Marshalling Platform: Overlook the “West Sea Peak Forest,” where 48 peaks look like soldiers in formation
- Imperial Writing Brush Peaks: Located east of Helong Park, several slender peaks resemble inverted writing brushes
- Helong Park: Built in 1995, features the Helong bronze statue (6.5 meters high, 9.3 tons)
- Tianzi Pavilion: 6-story tower; summit offers a 360-degree view of the park (Free, closes at 16:30)
- Geological Knowledge: Zhangjiajie quartz sandstone peak forest was formed in the Devonian period 3.8 billion years ago, a rare geological wonder
- Return: 17:00 descend via Tianzi Mountain Cableway (We arrange the descending ticket), take shuttle bus back to the entrance
🕘 Evening: Free Time

Day 3: Grand Canyon Thrills and Baofeng Lake Tranquility

- 8:00 Departure, 1.5-hour drive to Grand Canyon (We arrange all transportation)

- 300 meters above valley floor, each glass pane 5 cm thick, supports 600 kg/square meter
- Best photo spot: The center of the bridge for a panoramic canyon view

- Eagle’s Nest Wharf: 10-minute walk to the viewing platform after disembarking

Important Notes:

- In case of heavy fog, the Glass Skywalk may close; the tour will be adjusted to other spots
