Description

Day 1: Arrival in Shanghai – First Glimpse of the Magic City

Today’s Theme: Arrival, Check-in, and Independent Exploration of the City
Meals: Breakfast (Self-care) | Lunch (Self-care) | Dinner (Self-care)
Accommodation: 3-star hotel in downtown Shanghai (Included)

Itinerary (Times for reference only)

  • All Day 【Airport/Station Pick-up Service】

    • Our Arrangement: Whether you land at Pudong International Airport (PVG) / Hongqiao International Airport (SHA), or arrive via high-speed rail at Shanghai Station/Hongqiao Station, our professional driver will be waiting for you at the exit holding a sign.

    • Service Details: The driver will assist with large luggage and transport you directly to your downtown hotel for check-in.

    • Kind Reminder: Hotels usually check in after 14:00. If you arrive early, you may store your luggage at the front desk and explore the area freely.

  • 15:00 – Evening 【Recommended Free Time Activities】 (Optional)
After arrival, we suggest taking a short rest to recover from your journey. If you are feeling energetic, here are some “local” suggestions near the hotel:

    • Option A (Nostalgic Charm): Stroll along Wukang Road (Former French Concession)

      • Location/Distance: Approximately 20-30 minutes by car/metro from the city center.

      • Highlights: The plane trees and Spanish-style architecture here are full of character, especially the famous Wukang Mansion (Normandie Apartments), a premier landmark for photos.

      • Experience: Order a latte at a boutique café (such as Peet’s Coffee or Arabica) and enjoy a quintessential Shanghai afternoon tea.

    • Option B (Modern Trends): Xintiandi and Shikumen

      • Location/Distance: Located in Huangpu District, city center.

      • Highlights: See how Shanghai’s unique Shikumen architecture has been transformed into an international dining and fashion district.

    • Dinner Recommendations (Self-paid):

      • Snacks: Yang’s Fry-Dumpling (many locations), experience the thin-skinned, crispy-bottomed, and juicy Shanghai Pan-fried Pork Buns. Average cost 30-40 RMB.

      • Fine Dining: Lubolang or Shanghai Grandma (Lao Lao), to taste authentic Shanghainese dishes like Braised Pork Belly and Sauteed Eel. Average cost 100-150 RMB.

Day 2: Reaching the Heights · Ancient Charm & Modern Style (Tour Guide/Car Included)

Today’s Theme: Travel through time, from hundreds of meters in the sky to thousand-year-old bronzes, and from Jiangnan gardens to international architecture.
Meals: Breakfast (Included at hotel) | Lunch (Included in itinerary) | Dinner (Self-care)
Accommodation: 3-star hotel in downtown Shanghai (Included)

Itinerary (Times for reference only)

  • 08:00 – 09:00 【Hotel Breakfast】
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel to fuel up for your busy day.

  • 09:00 – 11:00 【Shanghai Tower: Walking in the Clouds】

    • Our Arrangement: Head to the Lujiazui Financial and Trade Zone in Pudong to visit China’s tallest building.

    • Architectural Details: The tower rises in a spiral, symbolizing a dragon ascending to the sky; this design also effectively reduces wind loads by 24%.

    • Experience Highlights: Take the ultra-high-speed elevator at 18m/s, reaching the 118th-floor observation deck in just 55 seconds. Standing at 546 meters high, you can look down upon the tops of the Jin Mao Tower and the World Financial Center, taking in the S-shaped curve of the Huangpu River.

    • Special Experience: Send a postcard from the “Top of Shanghai Air Post Office” (postage self-paid, approx. 10-20 RMB)—a greeting from the clouds.

  • 11:00 – 12:30 【Shanghai Museum East: Secrets of National Treasures】

    • Our Arrangement: Visit this magnificent building that looks like white marble, a top-tier temple for displaying ancient Chinese art.

    • In-depth Guide to Museum Treasures:

      • Da Ke Ding (Western Zhou): Observe the 290-character inscription cast inside the tripod, a key to studying the land and official systems of the Western Zhou.

      • Shang Yang Square Measure (Warring States): This seemingly unremarkable rectangular bronze vessel was the cornerstone for Qin Shi Huang’s unification of weights and measures, witnessing the beginning of China’s unified history.

      • Zizhong Jiang Plate (Spring and Autumn Period): Absolute Highlight! The plate features 31 aquatic animals (fish, turtles, frogs, etc.) cast inside; miraculously, these animals can rotate 360 degrees on a flat plane. This was the “high-tech” of craftsmen 2,600 years ago.

    • Note: If closed on Tuesdays or fully booked, the itinerary will be adjusted to the People’s Square branch or other downtown attractions.

  • 12:30 – 13:30 【Lunch Time】 (Included)

    • Dining Arrangement: We have specially arranged a Shanghai-style Lunch. It includes authentic dishes such as Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) and Sweet and Sour Spare Ribs (menu adjusted seasonally), allowing your taste buds to experience Shanghai’s refinement.

  • 14:00 – 15:30 【Yu Garden: A Model of Jiangnan Gardens】

    • Our Arrangement: Step into this private garden originally built during the Ming Dynasty (1559).

    • Historical Background: The garden owner Pan Yunduan spent 20 years building it to please his aging father, naming it “Yu Garden” to signify “pleasing one’s parents.”

    • Landscape Highlights: Admire the famous “Exquisite Jade Rock,” one of the three famous stones of Jiangnan, possessing the beauty of being “wrinkled, leaky, thin, and transparent.” Legend has it that if smoke is lit at the bottom, it will emerge from its hundreds of holes.

    • Surrounding Atmosphere: The Nine-Turn Bridge outside Yu Garden is always crowded; it’s said that walking across it can shake off bad luck (as ghosts can only walk in straight lines).

  • 15:30 – 17:00 【Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street & The Bund】

    • Our Arrangement: Stroll from the bustling Nanjing Road to the Bund.

    • Nanjing Road: Formerly known as the “Ten-Mile Foreign Lane,” you can pass the famous Wing On Department Store (now the Wing On Building) to feel the commercial prosperity of the 1930s.

    • The Bund International Architecture Exhibition: Arrive at the Huangpu riverfront, facing 52 buildings of various classical revival styles.

      • Recommended Sights: Peace Hotel (green roof), once the most luxurious hotel in the Far East; HSBC Building (dome), praised as the “most elaborate building from the Suez Canal to the Bering Strait.”

    • Photo Tips: Dusk is the best time to photograph the Bund, as the lights of the Lujiazui skyscrapers come on, creating a stunning contrast with the old buildings of the Bund (“Blue Hour”).

  • After 17:00 【End of Tour, Free Time】

    • Dinner Recommendations (Self-paid): Since you are at the Bund, we recommend restaurants near Waitanyuan, or take the ferry (2 RMB) to the Pudong Riverside Avenue to dine by the river. Average spending is about 150-300 RMB.

Day 3: Goodbye Shanghai – Looking Forward to Seeing You Again

Today’s Theme: Leisurely Morning, Private Transfer to Airport/Station
Meals: Breakfast (Included at hotel) | Lunch (Self-care) | Dinner (Self-care)
Accommodation: Warm Home

Itinerary (Times for reference only)

  • 08:00 – 09:30 【Hotel Breakfast】
    Enjoy your final Shanghai breakfast.

  • Based on your flight/train time 【Free Time or Transfer】

    • If you have a late flight/train: (Optional)
We suggest using the morning to visit a nearby convenience store (like FamilyMart or Lawson) to buy some Shanghai specialties as souvenirs, such as White Rabbit Creamy Candy or Butterfly Crackers (Park Hotel is the most famous, but with long queues; Harbin Food Factory is also a great choice).

    • Our Arrangement: Our driver will pick you up at the hotel lobby 3-4 hours early (for international flights) or 2-3 hours early (for domestic flights/trains) based on your schedule to take you to the airport or station.

  • Closing Remarks: Thank you for choosing our service. If you are interested in other destinations in China (such as the water towns of Suzhou and Hangzhou, the pandas of Chengdu, or the snow mountains of Tibet), please feel free to contact us to customize your next journey!
