Today’s Theme: Ascending High for Grand Views of Peak Forest Wonders
Dining Arrangements: Hotel breakfast included, group lunch inside the scenic area included
Accommodation Arrangements: Designated hotel in Wulingyuan Scenic Area (Fixed itinerary, cannot be changed)
Our Arrangement (Times are for reference only, subject to guide’s final schedule):
- 🕘Morning (Approx. 8:30-12:30): Exploring the “Avatar World” of Yuanjiajie
- After breakfast, drive to the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park entrance station.
- Transfer to the scenic shuttle bus to the lower station of the Bailong Elevator. With a vertical height difference of 335 meters and an operational height of 326 meters, the elevator travels at 5.25 m/s, reaching the summit in just 66 seconds, giving you an instantaneous visual impact from valley floor to peak.
- After reaching the top, hike through the core Yuanjiajie area, the essence of the quartz sandstone peak forest landform:
- Mihun Terrace (Ecstasy Terrace): Overlooking hundreds of stone peaks standing in deep valleys, it looks like a dreamlike fairyland when surrounded by mist—the best spot for photography.
- Southern Sky Pillar (Hallelujah Mountain): The prototype for the “Floating Mountains” in the movie Avatar. Standing about 150 meters tall, this vertical peak has stood through millions of years of wind and rain and is an iconic landmark of Zhangjiajie.
- First Bridge under Heaven: A naturally formed stone bridge spanning two peaks, about 2 meters wide and 25 meters long, with a vertical drop of 357 meters—a masterpiece of nature’s craftsmanship.
- 🕘Noon (Approx. 12:30-13:30): Enjoy the included group lunch at a designated restaurant inside the park (usually local specialty family-style dishes).
- 🕘Afternoon (Approx. 13:30-17:00): Journey to the “Monarch of Peak Forests” at Tianzi Mountain
- Take the shuttle bus to the Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve. Named after the ancient Tujia leader Xiang Dakun who called himself the “Son of Heaven,” it is famous for its majesty, eccentricity, wildness, and beauty.
- Sightseeing spots include:
- Dianjiangtai (Appointing General Terrace): Overlook the West Sea Peak Forest, where countless stone peaks are lined up like soldiers in formation.
- Yubi Feng (Imperial Brush Peaks): An iconic Tianzi Mountain spot where several thin, sharp peaks stand side-by-side like inverted imperial writing brushes—hailed as the “pinnacle of peak forests.”
- Helong Park: Pay respects at the bronze statue of Marshal He Long and learn about his connection with his hometown, Sangzhi. The nearby Tianzi Pavilion is an excellent vantage point for a panoramic view of the park.
After the tour, take the Tianzi Mountain Cableway (at your own expense, approx. 72 yuan/person) or hike down (approx. 2-3 hours), then take the shuttle bus back to the gate and return to the hotel.
