Whether to stay in West Street or Yulonghe in Yangshuo, first look at the stay time and the earliest and latest arrangements every day. If you only stay for one night, you need to eat and go shopping in the evening, and you need to gather or transfer the next day, I would recommend staying outside West Street or in the center of the county. If you want pastoral scenery, cycling, quietness, and a parent-child space, you can stay in Yulonghe. The noise between the core pedestrian area of West Street and the surrounding areas is much different, and the Yulong River is not the same point. You still have to take a bus to different docks and villages.Living in Yulong River does not mean that you can sit on the planned bamboo raft when you go out.。The data involved in this article, such as the location of Yangshuo Station and the distribution of Yulong River Terminals, were verified as of August 6, 2026. Bamboo raft routes, connecting flights, road management, parking and hotel services may be adjusted. Please check Railway 12306, the official platform of Yulong River Scenic Area and the hotel’s written reply before departure.

ToggleHow to choose between West Street and Yulong River
| Compare items | West Street, county center and periphery | Yulong River Pastoral Area |
|---|---|---|
| Noise at night | The interior of West Street Pedestrian Street may be affected by bar music, tourist conversations, late-night snacks and merchant operations. The outer areas of West Street may be quieter, but there will still be vehicle noise in rooms facing the main road, restaurants or pick-up and drop-off points. | Most areas are quieter than the county town at night, but B&Bs near rural roads, swimming pools, restaurants, parking areas or construction sites will also hear the sounds of vehicles, dinner parties, cock crows and children’s activities. |
| Eating and supplies | Restaurants, breakfast shops, convenience stores, pharmacies and takeout options are concentrated, making it easier to deal with late arrivals or temporary changes to meal times. | Mainly rely on B&B restaurants, farm dishes and a small number of cafes. Remote B&Bs may require dinner reservations in advance, and takeout may not be delivered to your door. |
| Taxi and pick-up | Living next to a trafficable road usually provides easy access. You may need to walk to the entrance or designated road inside the pedestrian street, and you will still have to wait on holidays. | You can generally call a taxi during the day, but the waiting time is more difficult to determine at night, on rainy days and during peak passenger flow. Some B&Bs require you to get on the bus at the entrance of the village, or rely mainly on hotel pick-up. |
| Walking conditions | Restaurants, shops and the entrance to West Street can be reached on foot, but stone pavements, pedestrian flow, steps and no-car areas will make it more difficult to drag luggage and push strollers. | River banks and pastoral roads are suitable for walking and cycling, but walking is usually not possible between hotels, restaurants, docks and villages. |
| Rural landscape | Hotels outside the county and some along the Li River may have mountain or river views, while the interior of West Street is dominated by street views and commercial buildings. | The views of rice fields, rivers, mountain peaks and villages are more concentrated, but “pastoral view rooms” are not necessarily unobstructed. You should check the actual photos taken by recent guests and the orientation of the room. |
| Parent-child space | Rooms and public areas are usually compact. The advantage is that it is convenient to eat, buy medicine, buy children’s supplies, and adjust on rainy days. | Patios, lawns, family rooms, pools, and laundry facilities are easier to find, but check for waterfront guardrails, pool management, and nighttime lighting. |
| Bamboo Raft Pier | Usually you need to take a bus to the specific dock you have booked, and accommodation is not restricted to a certain bamboo raft route. | It may be close to a terminal but far from the starting point of another line. The hotel says “Yulong River Scenic Area” cannot explain which pier it is near. |
| Shili Gallery | It is easier to get to the south side of the county, Kangzhan Road and Fengming area; if you live on the north side of West Street, you may need to cross the county road first. | Gongnong Bridge, Shuiedi and the downstream direction are easier to combine with Shili Gallery; upstream areas such as Jinlong Bridge and Yulong Bridge are not close to the southern section of Shili Gallery. |
| Xingping and Yangshuo Station | It is easy to book a taxi or go to the connecting point on the county road. It is suitable for going to Xingping, catching the high-speed rail or continuing to Guilin the next day. | You need to access the main road from the village road first. Remote B&Bs will take longer to pick up people, load luggage, and drive out of the village. For morning shifts, you should book a car in advance. |
| Traveling on rainy days | Restaurants, shops and indoor rest spots are concentrated, and meals and supplies can be completed within a short walk. | Cycling, pastoral trails, swimming pools and outdoor parent-child activities are greatly affected. In remote areas, mud and water, getting on and off, and rain gear storage must also be considered. |
| Parking | Hotels within the pedestrian street may not be able to park at the door. You should confirm the parking lot location, fees, entry and exit times and walking distance. | Some B&Bs have on-site parking spaces, but rural roads may be narrow. You should inquire about the meeting conditions, the number of parking spaces, and whether large vehicles can enter. |
| Hotel type | There are many chain hotels, small inns, commercial street B&Bs and river view hotels, and it is relatively easy to filter out elevators, front desks and breakfasts. | Mainly rural B&Bs, resort hotels and small family hotels, with large differences in pick-up and drop-off, catering, laundry and front desk services. |
| Suitable number of days to stay | Suitable for people who only stay for 1 night, stay for 2 nights without changing hotels, or who need to frequently enter and leave the county every day. | Staying for more than 2 consecutive nights makes it easier to use the courtyard, cycling and morning and evening garden time. If you arrive late and leave early, you will only stay for 1 night, so the actual experience time may be very little. |
| Main limitations | The internal rooms may be noisy, and vehicles may not arrive at the door. Self-driving parking and luggage towing must be confirmed in advance. | Eating, buying medicine, takeout and inter-regional transportation at night are not as stable as in the county. Low housing prices do not necessarily mean lower total costs. |
When I actually arrange this kind of itinerary, I will first mark the place where I want to go the earliest the next day. If you need to rush to Xingping, Yangshuo Station, Li River-related transfers or one-day tour gatherings, it is usually easier to travel through the county’s accessible roads; if you arrange Yulong River bamboo rafting, cycling and Shili Gallery for two consecutive days, staying in the corresponding area can reduce repeated trips.
Where are the accommodations on West Street?
When searching for “hotels near Yangshuo West Street”, the map will put multiple different areas together. They may be close to West Street, but the nighttime sounds, vehicle arrivals and difficulty of hauling luggage vary greatly.
| Accommodation location | Actual usage | Confirm before booking |
|---|---|---|
| West Street Core Pedestrian Area | Downstairs are restaurants, bars and shops, which are suitable for shopping at night, but vehicles usually cannot park in front of the room in the same way as ordinary street-facing hotels. | The shops downstairs, the distance to the bar, the direction of the room, whether there is an elevator, and how many stone paths you need to walk after getting off the bus. |
| Near the West Street entrance | The shopping distance is short, and it is easier to take a taxi than inside the pedestrian street. There may be a lot of tourists, late-night snacks, and passenger pick-up and drop-off vehicles near the entrance. | Whether the hotel faces the main entrance road, whether vehicles can park briefly, and whether the room faces the business district. |
| Near Yangshuo Park | It is close to the living area of the county town, with restaurants, pharmacies and shops concentrated, and it is usually acceptable to walk to West Street. | The actual pedestrian entrance, main road traffic, the sounds of park activity, and whether you need to walk through alleys to get back to the store at night. |
| Pantao Road, Anti-Japanese War Road and other county roads | Suitable for people who need a taxi, pick-up and directions to Shili Gallery. Some sections of the road are densely populated with restaurants and vehicles, so it cannot be quieter than the interior of West Street by default. | Whether it is adjacent to main roads, bus pick-up and drop-off points, late-night snack bars, breakfast shops and merchant loading and unloading areas. |
| Along the Li River near the county seat | Some hotels can combine river views, mountain views and county dining, which is suitable for people who don’t want to live in the middle of the commercial street. | Whether the river view is blocked by buildings, whether vehicles can reach the door, the nighttime lighting of riverside roads and the humidity of the room. |
| About 10-20 minutes walk from West Street | It is usually a more practical compromise choice for short-term stays, first-time visitors to Yangshuo, and tourists who are afraid of noise. You can still walk to eat at night. | Whether the real route is flat, passes through dark paths, slopes, continuous stone roads or roads under construction. |
When the map shows “500 meters from West Street”, it also depends on how to walk these 500 meters. A flat sidewalk is not the same experience as walking through a crowded pedestrian street. When bringing a 28-inch suitcase, a stroller or an elderly person who moves slowly, I recommend asking the hotel directly: where the online taxi will drop off passengers, how many meters from the drop-off point to the front desk, and whether there are steps.
Room type names can also provide clues. “Street view rooms”, “balcony view rooms” and “street-facing double bed rooms” may face commercial roads; “inner courtyard rooms” and “back building rooms” have the opportunity to be away from street sounds, but they cannot prove that the hotel’s internal sound insulation is good. Also check where the elevators, restaurants, laundry rooms and communal terraces are located in relation to the rooms.

The actual experience of living on West Street
The biggest advantage of living on West Street or in the center of the county is that temporary arrangements are easy to handle. After arriving in the evening, there is usually no need to book a B&B dinner first or wait for the hotel’s special car to enter the village. Restaurants, breakfast shops, pharmacies, convenience stores, rain gear and travel supplies are concentrated, making it more convenient for children who need drinking water, milk, paper towels or simple food temporarily.
When participating in a day trip, chartered car or hotel pick-up, it is easier for drivers to locate on county roads. However, if you live inside West Street Pedestrian Street, you may still need to walk to the entrance to gather. Therefore, when making a reservation, you should ask “How far is the hotel from the parking lot?” instead of just “How far is the hotel from West Street?”
On rainy days, the value of county accommodation will be higher. After adjustments to Yulong River cycling, bamboo rafting and outdoor activities, eating, shopping and resting can still be done on foot. If you only stay one night and get up early the next day to go to Xingping or Yangshuo Station, there is no need to temporarily contact the country hotel to deliver the car in the early morning.
The way you travel from Guilin to Yangshuo will affect your first night’s accommodation. The arrival locations are different if you take a Li River cruise to Yangshuo, take a bus to the county seat, or take the high-speed rail to Yangshuo Station. You can refer to it firstGuilin 3 days 2 nights and Li River cruise itinerary, and then select the hotel according to the actual time of getting off, disembarking and leaving.
Case:Arrive in Yangshuo around 19:00 in the evening, stay for 2 nights, get up early the next day and go to Xingping, and check out on the third day. There is no need to stay in the middle of West Street Pedestrian Street for such a trip. I would choose Yangshuo Park, Pantao Road or a hotel that is about 10 minutes’ walk from the West Street entrance and within easy reach of vehicles. You can eat and go shopping in the evening, and you don’t have to drag your luggage through the pedestrian area to find a car the next day.
Is West Street noisy at night?
Whether accommodation in Yangshuo West Street is noisy or not depends mainly on the specific building, room orientation and the merchants downstairs. Common sounds inside West Street include bar music, tourists chatting, restaurant queues, tables and chairs moving for late-night snacks, hotel corridor doors opening and closing, and guests returning home late talking.
Rooms near peripheral roads may not necessarily be quiet. Vehicle sirens, pick-ups and drop-offs, breakfast bar preparation, merchant loading and unloading and clearing operations may occur in the evening or early morning. Hotels facing the street should also check the outdoor air conditioner unit, restaurant exhaust equipment and the location of the parking area.
Lower floors are more susceptible to street noise, restaurants, and vehicles. High floors can attenuate some vocal sounds, but they may not block low-frequency music in the bar. The difference between a house facing the street and a house in the inner courtyard is often more obvious than the difference between the third floor and the sixth floor.
“Close to West Street” and “living in West Street” are not the same thing.A hotel located next to a normal traffic road, about a 10-minute walk to the West Street entrance, may be more suitable for people who go to bed early, take a taxi, and carry luggage than inside the pedestrian street.
When viewing the map, you should zoom in around the hotel and search for bars, pubs, KTVs, barbecues, late-night snacks and large restaurants. When looking at reviews, don’t just look for “good location” or “very lively,” search for specific words like “bar,” “street frontage,” “late night snack,” “soundproofing,” “construction,” “corridor,” and “whistle.”
Those who are afraid of noise should not just look at the hotel ratings, but check the specific reviews about bars, street frontage, late-night snacks and construction in the past three months.Different room types in the same hotel may face completely different directions. It is best to check both the room type name and the check-in floor in the review.
How big is the Yulonghe accommodation area?
Yulonghe is not a centralized accommodation point. The official terminal information lists many rafting routes such as Jinlong Bridge, Yulong Bridge, Jima, Shuiedi, Fuli Bridge, Xinglong, etc. The starting point, end point and operation method are different. Living near a certain river bank can only mean that you are close to the Yulong River, but not that you are close to the dock that has been booked.[1]
| Position | Accommodation features | Traffic judgment |
|---|---|---|
| Jiu County and surrounding countryside | Pastoral areas, ancient villages and B&Bs are concentrated and are suitable for walking, cycling and staying together. | Vehicles still need to be arranged to go to West Street, Yangshuo Station and Xingping. Being close to Jiuxian County does not mean being close to the downstream terminal. |
| Near Jima | Close to the middle reaches of Yulong River, B&Bs, cafes and cycling services are relatively concentrated. | The hotel may be located in the village, on the river bank or on the road into the village. Whether vehicles can reach the door must be confirmed on a door-to-door basis. |
| Near Water Eti | It is convenient to combine the bamboo raft and Shili Gallery in the direction from Shuiedi to Gongnongqiao. | There may still be village roads, bridges or riverside roads between the hotel and the pier, so we cannot just look at the straight-line distance. |
| Direction to Gongnong Bridge and Shili Gallery | It is suitable to put the lower reaches of Yulong River, Shili Gallery and cycling on the same day. | Traveling on the side of the main road is more direct, and you may still encounter parking and on-site traffic management during holidays. |
| Jinlong Bridge, Yulong Bridge and other upstream areas | The pastoral environment is complete and suitable for those who plan to stay in bamboo rafts, old counties and slow-paced accommodation in the upper reaches. | The time required to get to West Street, Xingping and Yangshuo stations is usually longer than in areas close to the county seat. For early morning transportation, you need to book a car in advance. |
| B&B on the county side | It can take into account some pastoral scenery and county dining, and is suitable for people who don’t want to change hotels frequently. | Still need to check whether hailing a taxi is stable and whether walking to West Street is actually feasible. |
| Remote B&Bs that rely on hotel pick-up and drop-off | The courtyards, landscapes and public spaces may be more complete, making it suitable for chartered cars or self-driving families to live together. | Dinner, buying medicine, traveling to and from West Street, and transportation to the pier and station all rely more on hotel arrangements. |
Different pages of the Yulong River official website may have distance differences due to different route updates, page versions or different starting points of measurement. Therefore, I do not recommend directly using “a few kilometers from the county seat” to judge a hotel. A more practical approach is to putThe exact location of the hotel and the full name of the booked pierEnter the map respectively, and then ask the hotel whether the vehicle can reach the actual entrance.
When arranging bamboo rafts, you should first determine the route and then choose accommodation. When preparing to put together bamboo rafting, cycling and rural accommodation, you can refer toGuilin Yangshuo and Yulong River bamboo raft itinerary, check the direction of daily activities.

Actual experience of staying in Yulonghe
The value of accommodation in Yulong River is mainly in the morning and evening. You can walk, ride a bike or rest in the courtyard in the morning and evening without having to commute from the county every day. When staying for more than two nights, you can return to the B&B to rest in the afternoon, which is more suitable for children who need a nap and families who don’t want to travel continuously.
Yangshuo Tianyuan B&B can easily provide courtyards, family rooms, balconies, swimming pools, lawns and public laundry facilities. Some hotels can also arrange breakfast, dinner, bicycles, electric cars and dock transfers. The services of different hotels vary greatly. You should confirm whether there are charges, reservation time and conditions of use before paying.
Pastoral landscapes change with weather and seasons. Clouds and fog may appear after rain, and the color of the rice fields will also change depending on the transplanting, growing and harvesting times. The green rice fields on the promotion page do not necessarily correspond to the month of stay. If you are concerned about the view, you should check the photos of recent guests.
Encountering the Dragon River does not mean that it is completely silent. You may hear electric cars and pick-up and drop-off vehicles in rooms facing the village road; children’s activities or dinner parties may be heard in rooms facing the swimming pool, restaurant and lawn; cockcrows, barking dogs, farming and house construction may also occur in the village.
Where to stay in a Yangshuo family hotel, don’t just look at whether there is a swimming pool. Can be combinedGuilin Yangshuo parent-child tour arrangement, first determine your nap, laundry, dining and transportation needs, and then filter the B&Bs.
What are the inconveniences of living in Yulonghe?
| Compare items | Yulonghe B&B near the county seat | Remote countryside B&B |
|---|---|---|
| Taking a taxi at night | Quickly accessing county roads, drivers are usually easy to locate, but they may still wait during peak hours. | The driver may ask to pick up the bus at the entrance of the village or on the main road. You should make a reservation in advance or use a hotel for pick-up at night. |
| Restaurants and takeaways | There may be farm food, cafes and B&B restaurants nearby, and takeaway is available at some addresses. | There are few choices, dinners often need to be booked in advance, and takeaways may not be delivered or can only be delivered to the entrance of the village. |
| Rainy day activities | You can return to the county town quickly, but you still need to confirm whether the pick-up and drop-off location is convenient. | Cycling, walking and swimming pools are more obviously affected, and children may stay in B&Bs for long periods of time. |
| Baggage handling | Most vehicles can approach the hotel, but you must confirm the steps, elevators and entrance roads. | Some entrances are located on narrow roads, gravel roads or field roads, and hotel assistance may be required for large luggage. |
| Go to West Street | Usually a short ride is required, so you should call for a ride in advance before returning to the store in the evening. | The round trip time and difficulty of calling a taxi are higher, so it is not suitable for going to West Street for dinner every day. |
| Go to Xingping and Yangshuo stations | You can book a ride directly, but you still need to allow time for picking up and loading luggage. | You need to drive out of the village before entering the main road. To catch the early train, you should confirm the vehicle one day in advance. |
| Buy medicine and supplies | It is easier to get back to the county town, and there may be small shops nearby. | There are limited options at night, so children’s supplies, common medicines, rain gear and drinking water should be prepared in advance. |
| Hotel pick-up and drop-off | A fixed range or fixed number of pickups may be provided. | Pick-up and drop-off are an important condition for accommodation. You should ask Qingxi Street, Pier, Xingping and Yangshuo Station respectively whether there are any charges. |
When you arrive late in the evening, you also need to confirm the front desk and dinner. If you expect to arrive after 21:00, you should ask in advance whether there is anyone checking in, whether the restaurant has stopped serving, whether the driver can find the entrance to the village, whether the hotel will assist with luggage, and whether there is any additional charge for night transfers.
During the rainy season or when the itinerary may be adjusted, when booking Yulong River accommodation, you should compare the free cancellation date, whether the continuous stay can be shortened, and whether there is a fee for pick-up and drop-off cancellation. Orders with slightly lower room rates but that cannot be modified at all may not necessarily be suitable for itineraries that rely on bamboo rafting and cycling.
Where to stay with children
Children’s age will directly affect accommodation choices. Infants and young children need to eat, nap, do laundry and buy supplies at any time, which is usually easier to arrange on the outskirts of West Street or in the center of the county. School-age children like cycling, courtyards and outdoor activities. When staying for more than two nights in a row, the space of Yulong River Garden B&B is easier to use.
When bringing a stroller, there are things to check on both sides. The interior of West Street may have stone pavements, steps and dense crowds, while the Yulonghe Village Road may have gravel, sloped and narrow roads. Priority should be given to confirming whether the vehicle can reach the door and whether the stroller can reach the room from the entrance without steps.
If your child needs to take a nap or go to bed early at night, it is not advisable to choose a West Street hotel near a bar, or a pastoral B&B directly opposite the swimming pool, restaurant, or public terrace. When applying for a room in a hotel, you can explicitly request to stay away from streets, restaurants, swimming pools, elevators and public activity areas.
| Parenting check items | What to ask when booking a room |
|---|---|
| Elevator | Which floor is the family room on? Can the stroller enter without steps from the door? Can the elevator reach that floor? |
| Balcony and guardrail | Whether balconies, stairs, floor-to-ceiling windows and bunk beds have guardrails, and whether children can open windows or doors by themselves. |
| Pool management | Opening hours, water depth, children’s area, whether there is someone to manage it, and whether it is closed on rainy days. |
| Distance to water | How far away are the yards and walks from the river bank, whether there is a continuous fence, and whether children can walk to the water alone. |
| Family room | Is it an extra bed in the same room or a separate bedroom? Are there any charges for children’s beds, bed rails and extra beds? |
| Children’s meal | Can we provide porridge, noodles, steamed eggs or light food? Can we still arrange meals after arriving late? |
| Breakfast time | When traveling to Bamboo Raft, Xingping or Yangshuo Station, is it possible to prepare meals in advance or pack breakfast? |
| Laundry | Is the washing machine in the room, for public use, or is it delivered for a fee? Is there drying equipment on rainy days? |
| Pick up and drop off | Whether child safety seats are provided, the range and fees of pick-up and drop-off from the pier, West Street and the station. |
| Convenience store | Can you buy drinking water, milk, diapers, snacks and rain gear on foot? |
| Medical point | Is it convenient to go to the county medical institution at night? Can the hotel help call a taxi? |
| Road lighting | Whether there are street lights and whether you pass through field roads when you return to the hotel from the restaurant, parking lot or get off the car at night. |
If your children are young, have less activities on rainy days, and need frequent supplies, I would recommend the area outside West Street. If your children can already walk or ride stably, if your family plans to stay for more than two nights, and if you have self-driving, chartered cars or reliable transportation, you may consider Yulonghe.
Where to live with the elderly?
When choosing accommodation for the elderly, first check the boarding and walking paths. Inside West Street, you may need to drag your luggage from the vehicle parking point into the pedestrian area. The stone road, the flow of people, and the steps will increase physical exertion; at Yulonghe B&B, you need to check the village road, courtyard gate steps, elevators, and parking locations.
When the elderly have a fixed dinner time, need light meals, or do not want to take frequent taxis, it is easier to arrange it in the outer areas of West Street and the center of the county. Elderly people who like quietness, are willing to dine in B&Bs, and don’t have many daily itineraries can choose the Yulong River B&B on the county side. There is no need to live too far away for the view.
When gathering early the next day, the distance from the hotel to the vehicle stop is more important than the straight-line distance from the hotel to the scenic spot. When making a reservation, ask the driver whether he can access the road where the hotel is located, how far the elderly need to walk from the room to the car, whether there are slopes, and whether breakfast can be advanced.
Elderly people who like to go shopping at night can live at the entrance of West Street or near Yangshuo Park. Elderly people who go to bed early or are sensitive to sound should avoid the interior of pedestrian streets, roads where late-night snacks are concentrated, and hotel public activity areas. High floors are no substitute for correct room orientation and actual soundproofing conditions.

How to arrange different days
| Number of days of stay | Suggested arrangements | Main itinerary | Should you change hotels? | Suitable for the crowd and shortcomings |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Only 1 night stay | Outskirts of West Street, Yangshuo Park or near roads accessible to traffic in the county | Eat and shop in the evening, and go to Xingping, Shili Gallery, Guilin or Yangshuo Station the next day | No change | Suitable for arriving late and leaving early; the disadvantage is that you will have less time to stay in the countryside. |
| Stay 2 nights | Select an area by primary activity. Most of the activities in the county are located outside West Street. Cycling and bamboo rafting are the main activities. You can stay near the Yulong River on the side of the county. | One day for Xingping or Lijiang River, one day for Yulong River and Shili Gallery | Do not change in most cases | Changing hotels will take up time for check-out, luggage transfer and check-in again. |
| Stay 3 nights | You can stay in one area, or you can stay in the outer area of West Street for 1 night and Yulonghe for 2 nights | West Street, Xingping, Bamboo Raft, Cycling and Shili Gallery | Can be exchanged once | Suitable for people who want to use the convenience of the county and rural space at the same time; large luggage must be transferred. |
| Stay more than 4 nights | The periphery of West Street is separated from the Yulong River, or you can live in a pastoral area with better transportation. | Add Xianggong Mountain, Xingping, slow riding, rest days and weather adjustment time | Can be exchanged once | Changing hotels will have less impact, but it is not recommended to carry luggage between multiple villages. |
Staying for two nights does not mean you have to change hotels. I plan to charter a car during the day and want to go back to the county town for dinner in the evening. It is more convenient to stay on the outskirts of West Street continuously. For two days, I will mainly arrange bamboo rafting on the Yulong River, Shili Gallery and parent-child cycling. I can also have dinner at a B&B. It is more suitable to stay in the Yulong River for both nights.
When staying for more than 3 nights, I will first arrange transportation in the direction of Xingping, Yangshuo Station and Guilin, and then decide whether to split. Can refer toGuilin Yangshuo 5-day itinerary, check whether a cross-region round trip is required every day.
Is it worth staying one night each in West Street and Yulonghe?
When staying only for two nights, it is usually not cost-effective to stay one night each. After checking out in the morning, you may not be able to check into your next hotel until the afternoon. In the middle, you have to store, call a taxi, load and unload luggage, and check in again. When you bring the elderly, children or large luggage, it actually takes up more time.
To determine whether it is worth changing hotels, it depends on whether the luggage can be delivered to the next hotel. If you have to return to the original hotel to pick up your luggage after the tour, and then go to Yulong River, the route will be repeated; if the chartered car can carry luggage, or the two hotels can confirm the transfer, the split of more than 3 nights will be smoother.
The check-in time of Tianyuan B&B must also be confirmed in advance. Some B&Bs have fewer front desk staff, so if you are late, please contact us in advance; breakfast, dinner and pick-up may require reservations, and cannot be handled at the hotel temporarily like large hotels in the county.
Case:A family of three stayed for 3 nights, with a 6-year-old child. We arrived in Yangshuo at 18:00 on the first day, went to West Street and Xingping on the second day, arranged the Yulong River Bamboo Raft and Shili Gallery on the third day, and left on the fourth day. Staying 1 night outside West Street and 2 nights at Yulong River is more reasonable if you can charter a car with your luggage on the second day and the Tianyuan B&B is on the county side and provides dinner. If you need to return to West Street to pick up your luggage in the afternoon, it will be easier to stay in the same hotel consecutively.
Where is the most convenient place to stay in Xingping?
Yangshuo Station is not in the center of Yangshuo County. The station address announced by China Railway 12306 is Fanzengshan Village, Xingping Town, Yangshuo County. Therefore, he lives near West Street and cannot be understood as “living next to Yangshuo Station”.[2]
To go to Xingping from West Street and County Town, you can choose passenger transportation, online car-hailing or chartered cars according to the conditions of the day. The connecting bus point, flight frequency and last bus time may be adjusted. You should confirm with the hotel, station or local passenger transportation channel on the day of departure. It is not advisable to catch the bus directly according to the fixed time in the old guide.
From Yulonghe Remote B&B to Xingping, you need to add the time for the vehicle to enter the village to pick up people, load luggage and drive out of the village road. When preparing to get up early to take pictures, go to Xianggong Mountain or catch an early train, you should confirm the driver one day in advance and do not wait until early morning to request a ride.
You can’t just look at the straight-line distance on the map. The upper reaches of the Yulong River, Yangshuo County, Xingping Ancient Town and Yangshuo Station belong to activity areas in different directions. The Yulong River bamboo rafting, Xingping and high-speed rail rides are also arranged on the same day, so the schedule is usually tight.
Whether you want to stay one night near Yangshuo Station depends on the train time. The morning train is very early. If you have been in Xingping the day before, you can stay in Xingping; for afternoon or evening trains, you usually don’t need to move to a hotel to be close to the station.
How to choose a self-driving car?
When staying on West Street by car, you cannot just look at the hotel page that says “parking available”. It is necessary to confirm whether the parking lot belongs to the hotel, whether it is charged, whether it can be freely entered and exited, and how far it takes to walk from the parking lot to the front desk. Even if a hotel within the pedestrian street provides parking, it may be arranged in an external public parking lot.
Congestion, temporary parking management and on-site guidance may occur in the popular areas of West Street, Gongnong Bridge and Yulong River during holidays. The time displayed on the navigation can only be used as a reference before departure. Time should be reserved on the day of check-in and catching the bus to find a parking space, walk, and load and unload luggage.
If you are driving in Longhe, you should check the width of rural roads, night lighting and B&B parking spaces. Large SUVs, commercial vehicles, or people who are not familiar with meeting cars on narrow roads should ask whether the last section of the road entering the hotel is paved and whether it is possible to meet cars in both directions.
Cycling and self-driving can be combined. After parking your vehicle at the B&B, you can ride a bicycle to explore the riverbanks and countryside during the day. You can then drive when you go to Xingping, Yangshuo Station and distant scenic spots, which can reduce repeated parking at Shili Gallery and the village.
Mainly visit Shili Gallery, Shuiedi and Gongnong Bridge. You can consider the south side of the county or the lower reaches of Yulong River. The next day, you will mainly go to Xingping and Yangshuo stations. You should give priority to hotels with easy access to external roads.
How to compare costs
When comparing accommodation in Yangshuo, don’t just look at the room rate per night. If you live far away but have to go to and from West Street every day to eat, go to different piers, and pick up and drop off from Yangshuo Station, the transportation and time costs will increase; if you live close to you, the housing prices are higher, and you may save multiple short-distance rides and one hotel move.
| Expense items | Live nearby and have higher housing prices | Live far away and have lower housing prices |
|---|---|---|
| Accommodation | West Street entrance, county center and popular scenic areas may have higher prices during peak seasons. | Basic room prices in some villages are lower, but popular view rooms, pool rooms and family rooms may also be higher. |
| Breakfast and dinner | You can choose freely in the hotel or surrounding areas, and it is easy to make temporary adjustments. | Breakfast may be included in the room rate and dinner may require a reservation or be charged as a set meal. |
| Pick up and drop off | The pick-up and drop-off distance from the county town is short, and some activities can be gathered nearby. | West Street, Bamboo Raft Wharf, Xingping and Yangshuo stations may be charged separately. Please inquire about the frequency and scope. |
| Taking a taxi | Most meals and shopping can be done on foot. | Eating out, returning to your hotel, and changing docks may all increase the number of rides you take. |
| Parking | Paid parking may be used and results in a walking distance from the parking lot to the hotel. | Some B&Bs offer free parking, but fixed parking spaces may not be reserved during peak seasons. |
| Bicycle or electric vehicle | You may need to go to the riding area before renting a car. | You can start riding directly near the B&B, but you need to confirm the cost, battery life, deposit and rainy day cancellation conditions. |
| Bamboo raft pier transportation | You need to take a bus to a specific terminal, but it can be flexibly adjusted according to different routes. | If you are close to a certain pier, you may miss one trip, but you still have to take a car to go to other piers. |
| Change hotel | There is no transfer baggage fee for consecutive stays. | Split accommodation may incur the costs of hailing a ride, baggage transfer, storage, and waiting for check-in. |
Prices may vary based on dates, weekends, holidays, room types and cancellation conditions. The same check-in dates, breakfast conditions and cancellation policies should be used when comparing, and it should be confirmed whether there are additional charges for children’s breakfast, extra beds, parking and transfers. The final decision will be based on the booking page and the hotel’s written reply.

- Enter the full name of the specific bamboo raft pier you have booked to check the driving route from the hotel to the pier.
- Confirm with the hotel whether online taxis, taxis or chartered cars can reach the door, and how far you need to go if not.

- Enlarge the map to view slope roads, stone roads, field roads, bridges and narrow roads in the village.
- Check whether there are bars, late-night snacks, large restaurants, parking lots or construction buildings nearby.
- Ask about road lighting at night from the restaurant, parking lot and drop-off point back to the hotel.
- Confirm the breakfast start time, whether you have a dinner reservation, and whether you can check in if you are late.
- Search nearby convenience stores, pharmacies and daily necessities stores to view real walking routes.
- Ask about the pick-up and drop-off range and fees at West Street, Bamboo Raft Wharf, Xingping and Yangshuo stations respectively.
- For self-driving, you need to confirm the number of parking spaces, fees, entry and exit times, and whether large vehicles can enter.

When contacting the hotel, you can directly send this paragraph: Can the online car-hailing service go to the hotel door? Are there steps or stone paths from the drop-off point to the front desk? Does the room face the street, near a restaurant, bar or pool? Is pick-up and drop-off available to the XX Bamboo Raft Pier I booked? Is there any charge? Is it possible to arrange a vehicle at the latest when returning to the hotel in the evening?

FAQ
Will it be noisy if I live in West Street in Yangshuo?
Some hotels are affected by the sound of bar music, tourist conversations, late-night snacks and hotel corridors, which is usually more noticeable on lower floors facing the street. High floors may not block low-frequency music. Before booking a room, you should check the direction of the room, the shops downstairs, and search for reviews about sound insulation and nighttime noise in the past three months.
Is it convenient to walk outside West Street?
The area about 10-20 minutes’ walk from the West Street entrance can usually accommodate both eating and sleeping, but it depends on the actual route. Normal sidewalks are relatively easy, but dark alleys, sloped roads, and continuous stone roads will make it more difficult for the elderly, children, and suitcases to pass.
Can I get a taxi in Yulonghe at night?
In most areas, you can try to call an online taxi, but the wait may be longer at night, on rainy days and on holidays, and in remote villages you may need to go to the main road. If you plan to go to West Street for dinner in the evening, you should reserve a return vehicle in advance and confirm the pick-up time and cost of the B&B.
How long does it take from Yulong River to West Street?
There is no unified time. The county side is usually a short-distance vehicle, and the upstream and remote villages are obviously further away. Different hotels have large differences in access roads, pick-up locations and traffic conditions. You should use the hotel’s accurate positioning to check the planned time navigation, and don’t just look at the “Yulong River Scenic Area” label.
Can I walk to the Bamboo Raft Pier if I live in Yulong River?
This is only possible if the hotel is close to the specific pier you booked and there is a normal walking path in between. The Yulong River has multiple starting points and ending points. Being close to Jima does not mean it is close to Jinlong Bridge, and being close to Gongnong Bridge does not mean it is convenient to access all upstream routes.
Should I take my children to live in West Street or Yulonghe?
For infants and young children who need to take a nap, often buy supplies or travel on rainy days, the area outside West Street is more convenient; for school-age children who like cycling, courtyards and outdoor activities, and families who stay for more than two nights in a row and whose transportation has been arranged, you can choose Yulonghe. Also check the swimming pool, waterfront guardrail, elevators and laundry facilities.
Do I need to change hotels if I only stay for two nights?
In most cases this is not required. Changing hotels for two nights will take up time for check-out, storage, transportation and check-in again. You can stay in the county town mainly for Xingping and West Street, and you can stay near the Yulong River on the side of the county town for bamboo rafting and Shili Gallery. You can only consider splitting if your luggage can be transferred along the way.
Where is the most convenient place to stay by car?
If you value eating, getting up early, and going to Xingping, you can choose hotels on the outskirts of West Street that have clear parking lots and vehicles can reach the door; if you value cycling and pastoral scenery, you can choose Yulonghe B&B with clear road conditions and parking spaces in the courtyard.
Where is the most convenient place to stay in Xingping?
Starting from the county’s accessible roads, it is easier to arrange transfers, online car hailing or chartered cars. If you are planning to catch an early train or have activities in Xingping early in the morning, you can stay in Xingping the night before. When traveling to Xingping from Yulonghe Remote Bed and Breakfast, you should book a car in advance and reserve time to pick up people in the village and load your luggage.
Is it suitable to live in Yulonghe during the rainy season?
Suitable for people who are willing to rest in a B&B and can accept activity adjustments. Rain will affect cycling, walking, swimming pools and some bamboo rafting arrangements. Eating and taking taxis in remote areas will also be more restricted. Indoor space, meals, drying and vehicle transfers should be confirmed when traveling with children.
Do I need to stay one night near Yangshuo Station?
Ordinary daytime or evening trains are usually not necessary. Yangshuo Station is located in Xingping Town, not in the center of Yangshuo County. It is only necessary to stay in the direction of Xingping or the station if the train is very early, you have been in Xingping the day before, or you do not want to catch the train from the county town and Yulonghe in the early morning.
How to judge whether it is quiet outside West Street?
First check whether the hotel is adjacent to Pantao Road, Anti-Japanese War Road and other traffic roads, and then check the surrounding bars, late-night snacks, parking lots and construction. Search for “street frontage”, “soundproofing”, “whistle”, “corridor” and “decoration” in the comments, and check the corresponding room types and floors in the reviews.
If you only stay for 1 night and need to get up early to transfer or have a last-minute meal in the evening, give priority to the roads outside West Street and the county town. If you stay for 2 nights, there is usually no need to move to a hotel. If you stay for more than 3 nights, if your children like to go outdoors and the transportation has been arranged, you can spend the last two nights in Yulong River. Before making payment, re-check the specific pier, Yangshuo station train numbers, transfer fees, parking location and recent noise reviews to avoid mismatch between the accommodation location and the actual itinerary.
